Discover the iconic Le Morne mountain at a relaxed pace with our Around Le Morne tour. This itinerary takes you up to the halfway point, then guides you through hidden corners of the mountain’s cultural and natural heritage before heading back down.

You’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views — very similar to those from the summit, but without the challenging climb.

Perfect for those who prefer a less strenuous experience, this tour is accessible to anyone without mobility issues, making it ideal for guests who are less fit or have vertigo. It’s a more exclusive experience, away from the crowds, yet still captures the magic of this iconic landmark.

What you’ll do

  • Meet & Brief (10–15 min)
    Meet your guide at the Le Morne meeting point (car park opposite Paradis Beachcomber, near Wapalapam). Gear check, safety briefing, and short introduction to the mountain’s UNESCO heritage.
  • Forest approach (30–40 min)
    Follow your guide by car to the trailhead, then hike a well-marked trail through forest and open paths. Your guide points out endemic plants, wildlife, and shares stories about Le Morne’s natural and cultural history.
  • Halfway viewpoint & panorama (20–30 min)
    Reach the halfway point, offering sweeping views over the lagoon, mountains, and surrounding landscapes. Time for photos and stories about the mountain’s heritage.
  • Guided descent (45–60 min)
    Descend back toward the base of the mountain along a safe route chosen by your guide, with stops to enjoy the scenery and take in the peaceful surroundings.
  • Wrap-up (5 min)
    Gentle stretch, debrief, and farewell. Your guide may share photos or highlights from the tour afterward.

What to bring?

  • Hiking shoes with good grip (no sandals/flip-flops)
  • Water: 1.5–2 L per person (add electrolytes if you run hot)
  • Small daypack (10–20 L) to keep hands free
  • Sun protection: cap/hat, SPF 50 sunscreen, sunglasses
  • Light, breathable clothing (avoid heavy cotton)
  • Snacks: energy bar/fruit/nuts
  • Personal meds (and allergy info)
  • Optional: Camera or phone for photos
  • Rain jacket (in case it drizzles)

Not suitable for

  • Children under 7.
  • Babies in backpacks.
  • Pregnancy (any stage).
  • Recent injuries or surgery (back, neck, knee, ankle, shoulder).
  • Heart conditions or uncontrolled respiratory issues (e.g., poorly controlled asthma).
  • Limited mobility or inability to use hands for short rock scrambles.
  • Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Inappropriate footwear (sandals/flip-flops/open-toe shoes).

Meeting Point

Meet us on the parking in front of the Wapalapam Island Eatery – Please note that the meeting point is not where we start the hike, once all the participants have arrived, you will have to follow the guide by car to the starting point of the hike (about 6 km further away, at the foot of the Morne Brabant mountain)

Know before you go

  • Meeting point is not the start of the hike. Once everyone has arrived, you’ll follow the guide by car (approx. 6 km) to the starting point at the foot of the mountain
  • Suitable for all fitness levels (gentle but steady climb)
  • The tour reaches the halfway viewpoint — not the summit
  • May be rescheduled in case of heavy rain for safety reasons
  • Private tours available on request
  • In the event of drizzle or occasional showers, the activity will proceed.
  • The decision to cancel/proceed is jointly made by the guide and clients at the meeting point.
  • The guide will be the only contact person on the day of the tour before 8:00am (our office is closed from 6pm to 8am. You will receive the guide’s contact details upon booking or on the eve of the activity date by email (make sure to check your spams if you did not receive the email)
  • Nov–Apr (hot/wet season): carry extra water, electrolytes, light rain jacket, insect repellent.
  • May–Oct (cool/dry, windier season): add a light layer for the summit + windbreaker.

Hiking at Le More Brabant in Mauritius

A challenging yet rewarding experience, that we couldn’t have done without Henri’s support, patience and guidance. Henri made sure everything was well organised, managed a diverse group, gave lots of insights about the history of the location, and showed great spirit, friendliness and encouragement. In addition to all of that, reaching the top of the mountain was a great opportunity to see breathtaking views and have unforgettable memories to bring back home!

Amazing Day at Seven Cascades

We had an incredible time on the Seven Cascades Canyoning Tour! The scenery was stunning and the whole experience felt adventurous yet safe. Our guide, Nicolas, was fantastic — friendly, patient, and very professional. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and helped us capture some great photos along the way. Highly recommended!
