Who Are We?
At Yanature, we’ve had the pleasure of guiding visitors from all over the world the past 20 years. Our passion for the outdoors and commitment to providing the highest standard of services have really been the heart of our success.
Yanature has pioneered outdoors tourism in Mauritius since January 2004. We have opened the famous ascent to Le Morne Brabant, introduced Trail-Running on the island, creating a series of events that bring together between 500 to 2000 adventures on a monthly basis.
Above all else, we are a group of friends sharing a deep love for being outdoors. Our driving force is a simple one: We want to share the breathtaking wilderness of our treasured island with others, without harming it. This is what motivates us each morning.

Our thirst for exploration knows no bound. Ever since we’ve started our activities in 2004, we’ve constantly been busy opening new tracks through our deepest forests, to our wildest Mountains peak or designing breathtaking kayaking excursions.
Why do we do this?
At Yanature, our “why” is simple: it’s our deep love for the outdoors. We are passionately drawn to nature and cherish every moment we spend amidst its beauty. To us, there is no greater joy than feeling connected with our environment and understanding its immense value.
We’re equally passionate about sharing this respect for nature and our unique knowledge about Mauritius with others. Whether it’s visitors seeking a unique outdoor experience in our beautiful country, or younger generations who we hope will carry forward this love for the environment, we feel a responsibility to pass on what we’ve learned.
Ultimately, we do what we do because nature is what we treasure most in life – and we believe the best way to protect it is by helping others appreciate its worth too.
Our Engagement
Safety
Ensuring your safety is our top concern. That’s why we run a twice-yearly training scheme to equip our guides with skills for all scenarios. Our guides are rigorously trained and tested in mountain risk assessment. Plus, we have an annual in-house training that covers mountain rescue drills and emergency procedures.
History
We deeply appreciate our country’s ecology, always mindful to respect nature and leave only footprints. Living in a land rich in unique endemic species is a privilege we cherish. It’s critical to us to prevent their loss, and that’s why we support the local NGO, “The Mauritian Wildlife Foundation”. Spreading awareness and taking action for conservation are our top priorities. It’s not just about nature; it’s about our home, our responsibility.
Biology
Our island is a hotspot for unique species like the earring flower of Morne Brabant, our national emblem. We cater to the curiosity of our wildlife lovers by organizing frequent programs with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. These include site visits to conservation areas and insightful talks at their locations.
Our Mission
Respect for ecology is a value at the heart of our lives. We keep the paths we take as such, leaving only our footprints behind. We are grateful to live in such a beautiful and unique country, with high density of native endemic species. We will not tolerate to let them disappear. This is why raising awareness on this matter & contributing to the local NGO “The Mauritian Wildlife Foundation” is a priority to us.
