About the Tour
Easy – 17kms
An easy beginning around the Mare Longue dam before we take single track including a river crossing at the top of a waterfall. A short climb followed by a steep descent that will take us to the lowest point of the outing. A gradual climb along a jeep track will slowly take us back to the starting point.

Technical – 17kms
We start off along a rocky road before taking a steep hidden single track, left unspoiled, leading us to the highest peak of Mauritius: the Black River Peak (828m). We have breathtaking views on the island. We make our way down a gradual track taking us through the National Park’s view point before taking the steep single track down known as Parakeet.
Cumulative altitude gained: 1000m.

What you’ll do
Easy Trail – 17 km | 550 m elevation gain
- Meeting point: Pétrin Information Centre – 7:00 AM
- Start with a gentle warm-up around the Mare Longue dam before taking a forest single track that includes a river crossing above a waterfall.
- A short climb is followed by a steep descent leading to the lowest point of the route.
- Finish with a gradual climb along a jeep track that brings you back to the starting point.
- This route offers a balanced mix of smooth sections and light challenges — ideal for intermediate runners.
Technical Trail – 17 km | 1000 m elevation gain
- Meeting point: Black River Gorges Parking Lot – 6:30 AM
- Begin along a rocky road before tackling a steep, untouched single track that leads to Mauritius’ highest peak — the Black River Peak (828 m).
- Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views before continuing on a gradual descent through the National Park’s main viewpoint.
- The trail finishes with a steep, technical descent known as “Parakeet,” demanding good control and experience on uneven terrain.
- A challenging and rewarding run for experienced trail runners seeking elevation and variety.

Know before you go
- Choose your trail according to your fitness and experience level
- Early morning start recommended for cooler temperatures
- The route may be modified or rescheduled in case of heavy rain
- Technical trail includes steep ascents and descents; good trail experience required
- The guide will be the only contact person on the day of the tour. You will receive the guide’s contact details upon booking or on the eve of the activity date by email (make sure to check your spams if you did not receive the email)

Amazing Day at Seven Cascades
We had an incredible time on the Seven Cascades Canyoning Tour! The scenery was stunning and the whole experience felt adventurous yet safe. Our guide, Nicolas, was fantastic — friendly, patient, and very professional. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and helped us capture some great photos along the way. Highly recommended!
